The Justtice Legacy

Gone, but not forgotten, this young stallion is making an impact on the breed, with only a few foals representing him.

Justtice, born in 2006, was one of three embryos from the Justify x Afire Storrm++/ cross. Justify himself was a son of Magnum Psyche (the Kingmaker) and out of one of the world's most beautiful and winning mares, S Justadream+/. When Justify was crossed on National Champion Mare Afire Storrm++/, the results were inevitable…..a world class colt was born and named Justtice.

Ann Henriksen-Brinkman and Dale Henriksen purchased Justtice at the tender age of 7 months. "He was bought to be a breeding horse, and if he got shown, well, that was okay too." recalls Ann. Justtice made his debut in Scottsdale soon after in 2007 where he was named Top Ten in the always competitive Scottsdale Signature Yearling Auction Colt Class. He went on to earn a Top Five award in the Region 10 Yearling Sweepstakes Class. Justtice's last appearance in the show ring was Scottsdale, 2008 where he was name Top Ten in the Scottsdale Signature 2 year old Colts.

Justtice's breeding career got off to a very slow start, as he sustained a nearly life-ending trailer injury in April of his 2 year old year. A year of recovery and therapy resulted in a stallion capable of use in the breeding barn, but his show and potential performance career was over for good. Fortunately, Justtice produced animals above and beyond Ann's wildest dreams!

In true small breeder fashion, Justtice has only produced 14 foals from 2009 through 2013. Of those 14 foals, 11 have show records! That translates to 79% of his get winning in the show ring! His get have earned an amazing amount of recognition! As of October, 2013, Justtice get have won 2 National Top Tens in halter, A National Top Ten in the Hunter Pleasure Futurity, a Top Ten in the Yearling Filly class at the Las Vegas Breeders World Cup, 1 Regional Reserve Championship. Justtice get have also made a statement in a big way at the Iowa Gold Star Futurity with 3 Champions, 2 Reserve Champions, and 6 Top Fives. Many of those Iowa Gold Star wins were earned by Ann and daughter Sarah buckling down and conditioning and training the youngsters themselves. At the prestigious Minnesota Medallion Futurity, Justtice get have won a Championship and 4 Top Tens in halter and a Top 5 in Performance as well.

The performance recognition is just starting to roll in. Out of his first foal crop in 2009, one filly made the finals in the Half Arabian Western Pleasure Futurity in 2012. In 2013, Justtice has a superstar son competing in the Purebred Hunter Pleasure Futurity, where he deservedly earned a Top Ten. Look for these statistics to continue to astound us!

Justtice earned recognition in the fall of 2012 in the Arabian Horse Time's Juvenile Sire issue as well.

Justtice was lost to the Henriksen Arabians Breeding program in 2011. A sad, sad, day for the farm and its future. Fortunately, with the technology of frozen semen, Ann can continue to breed a few select mares to produce more champions.
